Creating Collective Community Action For Climate Change Adaptation

Join us to hear how the Lan Thide Partnership and Community Planning Partnership’s Climate Change Group are working to mitigate climate change in the Outer Hebrides and adapt to its effects. You will also have the chance to share your own experiences of climate change and contribute to a local knowledge hub for climate action!

Connie Dawson (Sniffer) and Matthew Logan (Community Energy Scotland) will host the event. Connie and Matthew will begin by explaining the origins of the partnerships, current projects and future plans, and opportunities for your community/organisation to get involved.

Esteemed local author and poet, Donald Murray, will introduce the second half of the event with a poetry reading about climate change in the Outer Hebrides. The event will then open space for all who want to share their stories and experiences of climate change in the islands. You will have the opportunity to submit your story to the Lan Thide website to contribute to a local knowledge hub for climate action and inform a vital part of the Climate Change Group’s adaptation planning.

We hope this will be a thought-provoking opportunity think together about the ways in which climate change is affecting our lives and how we can work together to increase our islands’ resilience!
